NEWS Speed limits for planes may be the end of airport stacking

A new air traffic control system will be able to let aircraft, that are up to 350 miles away, to slow down so they arrive at their destination at the correct, precise time.

The new system will be able to introduce sped limits in the skies for airliners.

It will aim to reduce the risk of a jam and prevent airport stacking until a plane can arrive.

The result should be that flights can arrive more reliably without as many delays as there is.
