The Scandinavian Airlines Flight 0936 left SFO at 5:31 p.m. bound for Denmark.
Shortly after takeoff, the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.
The plane was diverted back to SFO. While on the way back, the smoke dissipated.
The pilot was able to land safely at SFO around 8 p.m.
