NEWS: Cork Airport Announces New Routes!


Cork Airport have been very busy recently as they have announced three new opening routes.

One of the routes is going to be with Aer Lingus as they are adding flights between Cork and Düsseldorf in May 2016 which will be ran twice weekly between the two European destinations. Welcoming the announcement of the new route, Cork Airport Managing Director, Niall MacCarthy said: “We’re delighted that Aer Lingus has added Düsseldorf to its schedule of services from Cork Airport; it’s great news for business and leisure passengers in the region.”

Another thing that has been announced by the airport is that CityJet will be adding flights from Cork to London City Airport. They will be adding 18 flights per week between the two destinations. The executive Chairman, Pat Byrne said: “We are very excited about this expansion of our route network. We believe the Cork to London City route has significant potential and indications are, as we launch a major marketing and promotional drive, that there are many travellers, both business and leisure, that want to enjoy the fast access and hassle-free experience that London City Airport offers.”

Finally, Flybe have announced plans to fly from Cardiff Airport to Cork. It has been said that Flybe will be using their Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft twice per week between the two cities. Flybe have failed to comment on their new route. As soon as we have more information about this route, then AirLive.net will be the first to let you all know!
