ALERT First pictures of the F/A-18 Swiss jet crash in France

The 38 year old pilot ejected from the jet. Aware, he was medicalized locally by firefighters, awaiting transport by helicopter to University Hospital of Besancon, France.

The F/A-18 Hornet was flying with two Swiss F-5 Tiger aircraft in a routine exercise when the crash occurred, a spokesman for the Swiss defense dept. said.
