Air France is to create a new low cost subsidiary using Boeing 787s which will fly on longhaul routes.
The airline currently is considering the creation of a new low cost long haul airline with pilots and cabin crew from different status from the parent company, Air France-KLM. The new airline will use some of the 25, soon to be delivered, 787-9s that were ordered by Air France-KLM.
This is being done as an equivalent to Lufthansa launching long haul services with their subsidiary Eurowings, which is soon to launch.
